Preparing your files for print.
To help you get your job printed on-time and on-budget, we've prepared this "preflight" checklist. Preflight is a process wherein we get your electronic file ready for printing. As in aviation, the goal is to ensure that once your job takes off it flies smoothly and lands on time. Errors not caught in preflight can cause problems leading to cost over-runs and missed deadlines.

Please make sure you have addressed ALL the items in this checklist.

Also note that some of these items should be addressed before or during the creation of your electronic file, whereas others should be done just prior to submitting your file.

As always, if you have any questions, please give us a call at (605) 342-8688.

Have you included a complete, accurate and up-to-date set of proofs?
• Proofs can be printed on a laser printer.
• Black and white is acceptable for color jobs, but please also supply separated proof of each color and note the appropriate color on each proof.
• Make sure the files print smoothly on your printer. If you have problems printing them, then we'll have problems printing them.

Have you included all fonts that are used in your electronic file?
• Quark Express
• InDesign
• Illustrator
• Freehand
• PhotoShop
• PageMaker
• MicroSoft Publisher

Is your electronic file in one of the following formats?
• Include both the screen and printer versions of the font.
• Type 1 fonts are preferred.

Have you removed any fonts, files, graphics, etc. that are not used in your file?
• Removing any fonts, files and graphics that are not used in your file will eliminate the possibility they'll be used in error, and will speed up the processing of your file.
Have you included all graphic files used in your electronic file?
• All graphic files should be in either TIFF or EPS format.
• Duotones and files with clipping paths must be submitted as EPS.
• All color graphics should be in CMYK (convert to CMYK if in RGB).
• For Indesign, Quark Express and PageMaker, use these programs' built-in feature to have the program gather all linked files.
• Web graphics are low resolution and may not reproduce well.

Our Client-Only Access
• This allows our clients to access proofs/files through a web interface. If you would like to use this service contact us.
